Enrolling at Mount Molloy State School
Choosing the right school is an important decision, and at Mount Molloy State School we are committed to ensuring you have all the information you need to feel confident and supported. As a small, vibrant school community, we offer a personalised learning experience enriched by programs such as the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, Outdoor Learning, Nature Play, and a range of other hands-on initiatives that bring learning to life.
If you’re considering enrolling your child, we invite you to contact us to arrange an appointment with the Principal. During your visit, you’ll receive a comprehensive tour of the school and an overview of our teaching and learning approach. This provides a clear understanding of how our nurturing environment supports the individual needs, abilities, and interests of every student.
As part of the enrolment conversation, we’ll discuss your child’s strengths, learning styles, social skills, and your goals and aspirations for their education. This helps us tailor our support from the very beginning, ensuring a smooth and positive transition into school life.
Mount Molloy State School welcomes all families, regardless of where you reside. We look forward to partnering with you and welcoming your child into our supportive, inclusive, and engaged community of learners.
Please bring the following with you to your enrolment appointment:
- enrolment form (PDF, 5.8MB)
- your child's birth certificate or passport
- information about your child's medical conditions, medications (if applicable) and doctor prescribed medical plans
- details of your child's previous education and care providers.
Prep enrolments
Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools and has a defined curriculum. Children attend Monday to Friday, generally from 9am to 3pm.
Children must be 5 by 30 June in the year they enrol.
Use the online calculator to see when your child can start Prep. Simply select your child's month and year of birth.
If your children are commencing Prep next year, we encourage you to participate in our Steps to Prep program run in Term 4 of the year before they start. Please contact us for more information.
